UTMB UK Deferral Options for 2026 Runners
When Skyline Scotland joined the UTMB World Series, it was important to UTMB and Ourea that this included giving runners with cancelled entries the ability to race in 2027. To honour this, UTMB has provided every Skyline Scotland 2026 runner with a free entry to a race of the corresponding category, or shorter, for the revised event in 2027. With there not being a 100M race in Scotland for 2027, we decided to open up the options so all runners can choose to transfer to one of the UTMB UK events in 2027, Arc of Attrition by UTMB or Eryri by UTMB, also in the same category or shorter.
Recovering Entry Fee Options
Due to entry fees being paid to Skyline Trail Races Limited, there is no direct option for a refund through UTMB, however, UTMB is happy to advise the options available. If a runner still wishes to be refunded for their 2026 entry, we can recommend the following options:
- Claim through the administrators. Please contact our athlete services team, where we can provide the contact details for the administrators. The administrators advised that participants who paid entry fees in advance would be contacted about next steps and how to register creditor claims. Runners are unsecured creditors, so any payout is likely to be partial. The deadline for the administrators to comply with this will end on 22 November 2026.
- Claim through your credit card. Requesting a chargeback through your credit card provider is likely to be the best option, however, Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act only covers credit card purchases over £100.
